There are lots of things that can be tested in a broadband speed test such as the download and the upload speed, networks, latency, DNS servers and ping time.
First most important thing that is measured in a broadband speed test is the download speed. Download speed shows how fast the connection can deliver content to your computer or the local area network.
Opposite to that is the upload speed which measures how fast the material is transferred from your computer or the local area network to other computers. Mostly for the businesses the download and the upload speed should at least match or remain close to each other. Upload speed is considerably important when you are operating a server at your own place.
The third thing that is measured by the broadband speed test is the Kbps. As there are 8bits in a byte so to get Kbps transfer rate we have to divide kbps by 8.
Another most important thing that is measured is the transfer rate. The transfer rate measures how fast the data can be transferred between two devices sometimes it is known as through put. Larger the size of files become larger is the requirement of a very high transfer rate. If the transfer rate is very high the data which is in larger amount would be easily transferred from one device to another.
Latency is another important measure that is configured by a broadband speed test. Word latency meaning delay, usually shows how much time the computer takes to transfer a packet of data from one place to another place or from one device to another device. Sometimes latency in calculated by sending a packet of information to a user than calculating it with the help of time it took for the whole round trip. As far as the businesses are concerned low latency rate is extremely important.
So the factors are that are measured by the internet speed test are:
1. DOWNLOAD
2. UPLOAD
3. LATENCY
4. Kbps
5. Transfer rate
