Wireless USB

A wireless USB is basically a short range radio communication device which has a very high bandwidth. The wireless USB is also called as WUSB mainly to differentiate it from its competitors. Wireless USB has a capacity of sending 480Mbit/s at a distance of around 3M. Now a day’s wireless USB is used in the following devices:
1. Game controllers.
2. Printers.
3. Scanners
4. Digital cameras
5. MP3 players
6. Hard disk
7. Flash drive
A wireless USB allows connecting 127 devices directly to the host since there are no wires or ports needed so there is no longer need of hubs. The capability of a WUSB can be added in a system with the help of a host wire adapter. The host wire adapter is basically a USB device that can be attached externally to a laptop or with a desktop or internally with a laptops mini card interface.
The important function of WUSB is that it supports dual-role-devices which in addition perform as a host. A common confusion these days is between WUSB and UWB. There are no major drivers for WUSB other than the Microsoft windows so this is a basic flaw in this device. WUSB is basically defined as a bus which can connect a host with a number of peripherals. The basic function that the host performs is that it divides the bandwidth through a strategy known as time division multiple accesses. The hosts can communicate with the devices up to 10 meters.
A typical USB model consists of mainly these layers but few adjustments have been made in it recently:
1. The function layer
2. The device layer
3. The bus layer
AUSB supports the following data rates:
• Low speed
• Full speed
• High speed
• Super speed
A USB connecter has the following properties:
• Usability
• Durability
• Compatibility

Wireless Speakers

Author: admin - Categories: Wireless Technology

Wireless speaker are almost same as the normal speakers but the only difference that lies between the two is that in the normal loud speakers there is a cable to transfer electronic signals but in the wireless speakers there is no use of cable at all so signals are transferred without the use of cable. The electronic signals basically carry sound information which is than transmitted in the form radio frequency.

Basically wireless speakers consist of a main unit which has loudspeakers and a RF receiver and it also has a secondary unit which has a transmitter to catch RF signals. This transmitter is connected to an audio output which can be of any audio device such as hi-fi equipment. The thing that usually is used to achieve this is an RCA plug.

This plug connects the transmitter with the audio output of an audio device such as a TV. Normally the receiver is positioned where the listener wants to hear the sound, this gives the listener a big freedom to move the speakers anywhere he wants without the use of cables which is in the case of normal speakers.

Mostly the receiver is connected with some sort of amplifier which is used to amplify the audio signals which ate than transferred to the speakers and they need to be connected to some sort of battery. The frequency range is almost similar that is used by a normal telephone phone. The frequency range of a normal cordless phone is around 900MHZ which is same for the wireless speakers.

In recent wireless speakers there is a tuning knob which can be used to alter frequency at different ranges. This knob is usually there to make sure that no interface occurs with other devices such as the cordless phones. Now days several different types of wireless speakers are present the most common is the stereo which is mostly used inside the houses.

Some wireless speakers are designed mostly for outdoor purposes. Sometimes wireless speakers do present problem when RF interfaces with other devices such as the cordless phones, TV and sometimes it gives poor sound quality but this is in very few cases. Wireless speakers are being used very commonly these days and they are in growing demand.

Wireless Internet

Wireless internet basically uses two main radio technologies which are single carrier known as direct sequence spread spectrum and multi carrier know as OFDM. The very first wireless product introduced was WAVELAN. Wireless internet provided devices such as mobile phones, PC; games console an access to the internet. Wireless networks have also made it possible to set up what is known as mesh networks. Since wireless internet is used in homes and offices it can also be provided at different hotspots in different locations to common public. Many different businesses such as airports, hotels provide wireless internet on hotspots as a main source of their publicity to attract customers.

A very attractive feature of wireless internet is that it allows peer to peer connectivity through which two to three consumers can connect with each other which is mostly popular in gaming. Personal computers can connect with each other with this technology, mobile phones can connect with each other at hotspots and digital cameras can transfer all sorts of data through this technology. Wireless internet provides connectivity in places where network connection is very rare such as bathrooms, gardens and kitchens. Wireless technology is now a days spreading at a very rapid pace in both the business as well as the industrial sites.

Wireless internet allows LAN (local area connectivity) without the help of cables which reduce costs significantly. Now a days wireless network adapters are being built in most of the devices especially in laptops which makes the price of wireless chips very low. The wireless networks have a limited range like for example a typical wireless router may have a range of around 32m indoors and approximately 95m outdoor. Due to these reach limitations of wireless internet the power consumption becomes fairly high. One important issue is the wireless pollution or large number of access points in a single area which can prevent interface with the usage of access points used by others. This problem persists basically in high density areas which are mostly crowded such as buildings, apartments and office buildings which have large number of access points.

Wireless system is mostly being used in homes these days for security measures. Recently in couple of years wireless embedded products have been introduced which have a real time operating system attached with it which allows any device to connect with it which has a wireless access port. The data from these embedded wireless technologies can be uploaded from the home network to any place in the world.

Wireless Headphones

Wireless headphones give you the opportunity listen music or watch a movie close to your stereo system. The headphones are not plugged in with the television, computer, mp3, but they communicate with the help of infrared or some sort of radio signals to a central base. Read it all..

Wireless Broadband

Author: admin - Categories: Broadband, Wireless Technology

The most recent technology these days is the wireless broadband which allows an internet access and transfer of data to a much larger extent. Most wireless broadband have an access facility of around 50km. initially the wireless internet facility was being adopted in the rural areas where it was very difficult for DSL to reach.

To simply use the wireless internet service the consumer’s just place a dish or some sort of signal catcher in front of the transmitter that provides the signal and passes it through to the consumer. Basically the wireless modem receives the services and than convert these services into radio signals so if a consumer is connected in that area signals are transmitted to him.

Most commonly the wireless internet is being used in laptops the only thing required is the broadband adapter. What happens is that the adapter once connected starts searching for wireless signals and when it catches the signals it tries to connect it self with it.

If there is no security protection than their would be an easy connectivity between the two. Mostly the wireless broadband is protected with some sort of security otherwise customers would just use the facility and increase the customer traffic. To avoid such thing now a days high security software’s are used to protect unknown users from connecting the wireless internet facility.

Wireless broad band makes it much easier for the users to use the internet. Simply following things are required to connect through a wireless network:

• Wireless modem
• Router
• Switch

Wireless broadband is very common now days and is being used by large organizations as well as chain hotels. The basic workable function of wireless broadband is that a consumer connects itself through some sort of a signal catcher or a transmitter. The transmitter catches the signals in the form of radio signals and than it passes it through to the router and than to the modem. The modem than connects the consumer with the transmitter.
