· Use a router in between various computers and the cable/DSL modem.

A pictorial form of the network is shown above indicating the structure of the network.

Why Do I Keep Receiving Shutdown Messages?

This is the indication that you station connected to the go home network is suffering from the blaster worm or similar such kind of worms. You need to protect your computer from further infections and the computer present on the network too. And you have to remove this kind of virus or worms. Most important is that you automatic updates should be ON so that your computer is guarded against new virus definitions. It is strongly recommended to install a Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Can’t See My Computer on the Network

This problem normally arises when you use a windows 98, windows ME but it is very different in case you are using windows XP. The main cause of a disappearing Windows XP based computer on the network is probably a computer’s browsing issue.

You can connect you computer by knowing the ip address even if it is not been shown in the computer network windows. For example, if you want to connect the computer placed in one office with the computer placed in any other room, all you have to know is the IP address of that home office computer. to get the ip of the computer just:

1.

Click Start menu, click All Programs, go to Accessories, and click Command Prompt. A command window will appear.

2.

Type in ipconfig as shown below in the Figure, and then press Enter key.

Here in the picture it is indicating that your ip address is 192.168.50.100

Now you have got the right ip address to work on just go to the other computer and click start menu and click run. Type in “command” and press Enter.

1.

After opening the command prompt, type the command as shown below..

2.

Just type in net use * \\192.168.50.100\foldername as shown in Figure and press Enter key.

Now the Z: drive is ready and you don’t have the need to go repeatedly to the networking menu. Your Z:\ drive is now active and you don’t need to be worry while doing your important work.

Among these bulks of errors, some of them are most common. So a brief review of all the common errors in computers is discussed below with their possible solutions:

(INVALID PARTITION TABLE)
(ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM)
(MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM)

The messages above are displayed by the program in the MBR when it cannot find the active partition in the hard drive, or the boot sector on that partition. By sing the FDISK command or Diskpart option from a command prompt is to check the hard disk partition table for errors. But some times fdisk/mbr command can solve the problem. Some third party applications like Partition Magic might help in such conditions.
(A disk read error occurred)
(NTLDR is missing)
(NTLDR is compressed)
These types of errors occurs when you left a compact disk or floppy disk in the drive or if the Ntldr has been moved, deleted or renamed, or is corrupted due to some reason. Replace the NTLDR if the active partition of the drive is corrupted and also check the boot.ini settings in this context.

(A blue screen is appeared and the system halts. This is normally the blue screen called THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH most common is windows XP.)
The halt or instant Stop errors are caused by viruses, worms, errors in the file system. A corrupt drive or hardware problem may be the cause of this problem.
(Stop 0×00000024 or NTFS FILE SYTEM)
This type of error normally comes in the NTFS supported operating systems normally windows XP. The file system has corrupted. Just boot to the recovery console and take a backup of any critical data on that system before you start troubleshooting.
(Stop 0×000000050 or Page Fault in Non page Area)

Physical Memory is out of order.
(Stop 0×00000077 Kernel Stack In page Error)

A bad sector on the hard disk has found on the area where paging file is located. A chances of virus or defective memory is there so try to solve it by running Chkdsk.

(Stop 0×00000007A or Kernel Data In page Error)

Mostly a virus or defective memory indication

(Stop 0×0000007B or Inaccessible Boot Device)

Run FIXMBR
